US Customs Rejection List! Which country has the most rejected products? 

According to a recent report in Indian Express, data from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) show that from October 2019 to September 2023, the number of foods from Mexico, India and other countries rejected by the US Customs was in the forefront, with Mexico ranking first with 5,374 batches and India ranking second with 3,925 batches.

However, in terms of the rejection rate (as a percentage of all food exported to a particular country), India is six times higher than Mexico (0.025%),which is 0.15%. 

FDA data shows that of the 3,925 shipments of food from India rejected by U.S. Customs,953shipments (24 percent) were denied entry because they were "unclean" and 786 shipments (20 percent) because they contained salmonella. The most common product categories rejected were spices, vitamins, minerals and proteins, baked goods and seafood products. 

According to Indian media, the number of rejected Indian food exports has shown a downward trend in the past 10 years. However, according to the Indian Express, a study published by the US Department of Agriculture in 2022 has once again aroused concern: between 2002 and 2019, among the more than 22,000 pathogen and toxin violations identified, 5,115 batches of Indian imported food were related and refused entry by customs, accounting for 22.9%. According to the study, these violations are mainly Salmonella contamination.

       FDA的数据显示，被美国海关拒绝入境的3925批来自印度的食品中，953批货物（24%）因“不干净“而被拒绝入境，786批货物（20%）因含有沙门氏菌而被拒绝入境。遭拒收最常见的产品类别是香料、维生素、矿物质和蛋白质、烘焙产品以及海鲜产品。

       印媒称，过去10年，印度食品出口被拒收的次数呈下降趋势。然而，《印度快报》称，美国农业部在2022年发表的一项研究再度引发担忧：2002年至2019年期间，在已查明的2。2万多起病原体和毒素违规事件中，有5115批印度进口食品相关并被海关拒绝入境，占22.9%。研究称，这些违规情况主要为沙门氏菌污染。
