Chinese demand drives Australian agricultural exports to a record


According to Australia's Canberra Times website, in fiscal year 2022-2023, Australia's agricultural exports reached a record high for the second consecutive year, with exports increasing by nearly 20% to a $80 billion.


China was the top destination for Australian grain exports, with exports rising 62.5 percent to a $5.4 billion. China was also the top destination for Australian beef cattle exports, accounting for 22 percent of Australia's total beef cattle exports. Australian exports of almonds and cotton to China also increased.


Overall, China accounts for about 20% of Australia's agricultural exports, making it the fastest growing market for Australian agricultural exports for the second consecutive year.
