China Becomes World's Largest Shipowner

China has become the largest shipowner in the world, and the throughput of port cargo and container ranks first in the world for many years.

At present, the national waterway freight volume and freight turnover account for 16.9% and 53.5% respectively in the comprehensive transportation system, and shipping bears about 95% of China's foreign trade transportation volume, which plays an important role in ensuring the transportation of key materials such as imported grain, energy resources and the safe, stable and smooth international and domestic logistics supply chains.

Chinese shipowners have a fleet of 249.2 million gross tons, surpassing Greece to become the largest shipowner in the world in terms of gross tons. China's port cargo throughput and container throughput rank first in the world for many years. Among the top ten ports in the world in terms of port throughput and container throughput, China has 8 seats and 7 seats respectively.

       我国已经成为世界上最大的船东国，港口货物、集装箱吞吐量连续多年位居世界第一。

       目前全国水路货运量、货物周转量在综合交通运输体系中占比分别达到16.9%和53.5%。海运承担了我国约95%的对外贸易运输量，在保障进口粮食、能源资源等重点物资运输和国际国内物流供应链安全稳定畅通中发挥了重要作用。

       中国船东拥有的船队规模达到2.492亿总吨，从总吨数上已超越希腊成为世界最大船东国。我国港口货物吞吐量和集装箱吞吐量连续多年位居世界第一，世界港口吞吐量、集装箱吞吐量排名前十位的港口中，中国分别占8席和7席。
