International shipping container throughput in the first quarter of 2024

Global Ports announced its operating results for the first quarter of 2024. During this period, the Russian container market experienced a significant growth of 17.7% to 1.293 million TEUs.

Container throughput in the Baltic Basin nearly doubled to 409,000 TEUs in the first quarter of 2024. As a result, the Baltic Basin's share of the Russian market soared to 32% from 19% a year ago.

Container throughput in the Black Sea Basin increased by 6.8% over the past quarter. The increase in container throughput in the Baltic and Black Sea Basins partially offset the 3.5% decline in container throughput in the Far East Basin. As a result, the Far East Basin's share of the Russian market dropped from last year's 53% to 44% in the first quarter of 2024.

The comprehensive container throughput of Global Ports' sea terminals soared to 297,000 TEUs in the first quarter of 2024, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 12.4% and a year-on-year increase of 59.4%.

In the first quarter of 2024, the container throughput of Global Ports terminals in the Baltic region soared to 155,000 TEU, a year-on-year increase of 10.2 times and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 23.7%. On the contrary, due to the decline in throughput in the Far East Basin, the container throughput of Global Ports terminals in the region Throughput fell by 16.9%.

In addition, the Group continued to successfully expand non-container cargo throughput. In the first quarter of 2024, the comprehensive bulk cargo throughput of Global Ports Marine Terminal increased strongly by 38.3% to 1.8 million tons.

       此外，集团继续成功扩大非货柜货物吞吐量。2024年第一季度，环球港口海运码头散货综合吞吐量强劲增长38.3%，达到180万吨。
