Iran seizes $93.6 million worth of international shipping container ships
According to Vizion data, on April 13, the Iranian army seized a container ship called MSC Aries with a total cargo value of 2,153 TEU and a total value of 93.6 million US dollars.
The ship, which has been targeted by Iranians because of its links to Israel, is owned by Gortal Shipping, a financial company linked to Zodiac Maritime, controlled by Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer.
Vizion said its Tradeview data showed petrochemicals, plastic polymers and steel products were the most important product types on board when the ship was seized. These companies include Saudi Basic Industries, ExxonMobil and Dow Chemical.
