Iran Attacks International Shipping Container Ship

Iranian forces took control of a 15,000 teu container ship, the MSC Aries, in the Strait of Hormuz and took it to Iranian waters, state news agency IRNA said.

MSC confirmed that the ship was boarded by Iranian authorities on the morning of April 13 and changed its original course. MSC said:"There are 25 crew members on board, and we are working closely with relevant authorities to ensure their health and Ensure the safe return of the ship."

It is reported that MSC Aries is operated by MSC, which leased the vessel from Gortal Shipping Inc, a company linked to Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer's Zodiac.

The ship was carrying out the HIMALAYA EXPRESS route service. It departed from the port of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and was scheduled to go to Nhava Sheva in Mumbai, India. It was airborne and seized by the Iranian side while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Ambrey said:"This is the first Israeli-affiliated ship to be boarded by Iran since August 2021. Compared with Houthi attacks, Iran has stricter determination of Israeli ownership, but the risk of mistargeting remains. The British Maritime Authority advises ships to be careful when sailing in the area." 

伊朗袭击国际海运集装箱船

       伊朗国家通讯社IRNA称，伊朗军队在霍尔木兹海峡控制了一艘1.5万teu的集装箱船MSC Aries号，并将其带到伊朗水域。

       该轮正执行HIMALAYA EXPRESS航线服务，从阿联酋的阿布扎比港口出发，原定前往印度孟买的Nhava Sheva，在经过霍尔木兹海峡附近时被伊朗方空降扣押。

       Ambrey表示：“这是自2021年8月以来，第一艘被伊朗登上的以色列附属船只。与胡塞武装的袭击相比，伊朗更严格地确定以色列的所有权，但错误瞄准的风险仍然存在。英国海事管理局建议船只在该地区航行时要小心。”
