The world's top 25% of international shipping ports will improve efficiency

Officials, partners and elected representatives of the Port of Everglades unveiled three new super-Panamax container gantry cranes. These 53-meter-high cranes will take the operational efficiency of the port of South Florida to new heights. According to the latest container port performance index, the operational efficiency of the Port of Everglades ranks among the top 25% of the world's ports.

According to the statement, the super post-Panamax crane, known for its extended range and enhanced load-bearing capacity, is good at handling containers piled up from deck to 8 feet high and can span 22 containers. This is in stark contrast to the port's previous seven "post-Panamax" cranes, which are 46 meters high and can only handle containers 6 meters high, and can handle up to 16 containers.

With these three new cranes, Everglades Port now has a total of 13 container gantry cranes, including 6 Super Panamax and 7 Panamax container cranes, and one mobile port crane.

"With the commissioning of new cranes, our historic $471 million South Harbor Turning Gap expansion project is nearing completion." Everglades Acting Port Director Glenn Wiltshire said. "We appreciate the county commission's investment over the years in building port infrastructure that benefits the men and women workers working at these terminals and the regional economy."

The ceremony featured a moment of silence to pay tribute to the six people who tragically lost their lives in the collapse of the Baltimore Harbor Bridge. In addition, it paid tribute to the countless others in the harbor and community who were affected by the incident.

       “随着新起重机的调试，我们历史性的4.71亿美元的南港转弯缺口扩建项目即将完成。”Everglades港口代理主任Glenn Wiltshire称：“我们赞赏县委员会多年来为建设港口基础设施所做的投资，这有利于在这些码头工作的男女工人和地区经济。”
