Federal Express will add a new international logistics facility
FedEx recently announced the opening of a new logistics facility in the northwest of Leipzig. The new Kabelsketal facility, located near Halle Airport, covers an area of more than 17,000 square meters, providing about 3,400 square meters of warehouse space and more than 850 square meters of office area. There are 6 truck loading areas, 63 truck loading areas, and 6 7.5-ton truck loading areas.
The company has installed 12 charging stations for wagons and 6 charging stations for employees' cars. Compared with the previous facility, the sorting capacity has been doubled. The new loading and unloading concept reduces the traffic flow of the warehouse, thereby reducing the risk of work accidents. Suburban rail connections close to the site ensure good connections to the cities of Leipzig and Halle.
The new building in Kabelsketal is FedEx's fourth location in Germany in the past 18 months. Following the opening of the Nufringen station in early summer 2022 and the modernization of the Stuttgart Air Gateway in spring 2023, the company opened the Karlsruhe site in late January. The base has been expanded and modernized.
It is worth mentioning that FedEx recently announced that it was named "Overall Logistics and Supply Chain Management Supplier of the Year", and also won the "Best Logistics and Supply Chain Management Supplier" issued by the 2024 Asia-Pacific Biopharmaceutical Excellence Awards (ABEA 2024) Award ".
It is reported that ABEA 2024 is hosted by IMAPAC and aims to recognize outstanding bioprocessing, logistics and supply chain management, and clinical trial experts, organizations and technologies in Asia.

联邦快递近日宣布在莱比锡西北部开设一个新的物流设施。位于哈勒机场附近的Kabelsketal新设施，占地超过17000平方米，提供了约3400平方米的仓库空间和超过850平方米的办公区。这里有6个卡车装载区，63个货车装载区，6个7.5吨卡车装载区。
公司已经为货车安装了12个充电站，为员工的汽车安装了6个充电站。与以前的设施相比，分拣能力增加了一倍。新的装卸概念减少了仓库的交通流量，从而降低了工作事故的风险。靠近场地的郊区铁路连接确保了与莱比锡和哈雷城市的良好连接。
位于Kabelsketal的新大楼是联邦快递在过去18个月里在德国开设的第四个地点。继2022年初夏启用Nufringen站和2023年春季斯图加特航空门户现代化之后，该公司于1月底对卡尔斯鲁厄的基地进行了扩建和现代化。
值得一提的是，联邦快递近日宣布被评为“年度整体物流和供应链管理供应商”，还获得了2024年亚太生物制药卓越奖(ABEA 2024)颁发的“最佳物流和供应链管理供应商奖”。
据悉，ABEA 2024由IMAPAC主办，旨在表彰亚洲地区杰出的生物加工、物流和供应链管理以及临床试验专家、组织和技术。
