Spain's international shipping port will extend some container terminals

The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has received four tenders for the container terminal project on the northern extension of the Spanish port.

These bids were quantified on the platform at 1 pm on April 5, which is the deadline for bids.

On April 9, authorities will proceed to open the envelopes of each proposal submitted within the deadline. After the first step, the names of companies that have submitted bids will be published.

The port's new container terminal will be an infrastructure that combines technology, eco-efficiency, multimodal transport and sustainability. In addition, it will be an infrastructure that is expected to create jobs, boost economic activity in its hinterland and strengthen the position of Spanish ports.

Located in the sheltered waters of the northern extension, the terminal, completed in 2012, covers an area of about 1.37 million square meters, has 1,970 meters of berthing lines and can accommodate up to 5 million containers. Equipped with state-of-the-art design, technology and electrification facilities, it will effectively handle large container ships and ensure high performance for offshore and land operations.
