Indonesia has added an international shipping container route to China

The Indonesian resort island of Batam has opened its first container shipping route with China, which the local government estimates will save $600 per container in shipping costs.

On March 31, when the SITC Hakata container ship arrived at Batu Ambar container port in Batam, Muhammad Rudi said:"Now, Chinese containers do not need to be transferred to Batam in Singapore, which is an opportunity to expand direct shipping links, not only with China, but also with other countries."

The direct service was launched by Batam Persero Batam and Batam Franchise in partnership with Hong Kong-based Asian intra-shipping company SITC Container Lines.

The service connects Batam with the southern Chinese cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Many of Indonesia's islands tend to mean that for some, shipping containers need to transit through Jakarta, Surabaya or Singapore.

The SITC Bodo carries 168 containers from Batam. Arham Torik, director of Persero Batam, estimates that four to five companies in Batam will first use the service to export goods to China.

印尼新增一条直通中国的国际海运集装箱航线

       印尼度假胜地巴淡岛开通了第一条与中国的集装箱航运航线，据当地政府估计，此举将为每个集装箱节省600美元的运输成本。

       该服务将巴淡岛与中国南方城市广州和深圳连接起来。印度尼西亚的许多岛屿往往意味着，对于某些岛屿来说，海运集装箱运输需要在雅加达、泗水或新加坡中转。

       SITC博多号从巴淡岛运送了168个集装箱。Persero Batam董事阿哈姆•托里克(Arham Torik)估计，巴淡岛的四到五家公司将首先使用该服务向中国出口货物。
