Maersk is resuming transportation in Panama Canal
Maersk is resuming Panama Canal transportation to serve Australia and the east coast of the United States as restrictions on the main waterway ease.
As water levels improve, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) recently increased its daily transit slots to 27 from 24 in December 2023.
In January this year, Maersk divided the Oceania-East Coast of North America (OC1) route into two parts, and transported goods to the Isthmus of Panama by rail connection.
Danish shipping company announced that it will resume OC1 service of Panama Canal from May 10,2024, and cancel the railway-land bridge connection. The current "double ring" setting, which connects with Panama Railway, will be phased out by the end of May.
The OC1 route will be restored to the rotation route of Philadelphia-Charleston-Panama Canal-Balboa-Tauranga-Sydney-Melbourne-Chalmers Port-Tauranga-Panama Canal-Manzanillo-Cristobal-Cartagena.

今年1月,马士基将大洋洲-北美东海岸(OC1)航线分成两部分,通过铁路连接将货物运送到巴拿马地峡。
