The flight involved was a Boeing 727-200F with registration number 5Y-IRE.

Malakal local government said that the 727 cargo plane broke down before landing, rushed off the runway during emergency landing, and hit the wreckage of an MD-82 plane that crashed before, and seven people on board were safely evacuated.

The plane landed a few meters outside the runway, causing tires to burst, the plane capsized and crashed into a plane that had crashed earlier. The plane was badly damaged and its bottom was broken, which could not be repaired.

Meanwhile, Gov. Odock expressed his concerns about the state of the airport and its ability to handle emergencies as he called for runways to be expanded and improved to meet safety standards, according to previous reports.
