This international shipping terminal handles more than 6 million TEUs

APM Terminals Mo í n (TCM) has handled more than 6 million TEUs in just over five years since it was put into operation in 2018.

During this period, the number of containers showed an increasing trend, increasing from 1 million TEUs in 2019 to 1.3 million TEUs in 2023. In addition, the average monthly number of ships calling at the terminal increased from 12 in 2018 to more than 89 in 2023, a threefold increase compared with other ports in the region.

Approximately 80 to 85 percent of Costa Rican terminal operations focus on the efficient and timely processing of exports, including bananas, pineapples, coffee, tubers and melons, which not only boost economic activity, but also have a positive impact on job creation, benefiting tens of thousands of people employed directly and through subcontractors.

Advanced technology is also used to improve efficiency, including automatic gates with OCR system to verify container numbers and arrange appointment time to manage gate traffic. In addition, OCR technology on ship-to-shore cranes ensures accurate container handling, and high-resolution cameras can capture and visualize container conditions.

       自2018年投入运营以来，短短五年多的时间里，APM Terminals Moín (TCM)已处理了600多万标准箱。

       在此期间，集装箱数量呈增长趋势，从2019年的100万标准箱增加到2023年的130万标准箱。此外，停靠该码头的平均每月船舶数量从2018年的12艘增加到2023年的89艘以上，与该地区其他港口相比增长了三倍。

       大约80%到85%的哥斯达黎加码头业务集中于有效和及时地处理出口商品，包括香蕉、菠萝、咖啡、块茎和瓜类。这些出口不仅推动了经济活动，而且对创造就业机会产生了积极影响，使成千上万的直接就业和通过分包商就业的人受益。

       码头亦采用先进科技提高效率，包括设有OCR系统的自动闸口，以核实货柜编号，并安排预约时间，以管理闸口交通。此外，船到岸起重机上的OCR技术确保了准确的集装箱处理，而高分辨率摄像机可以捕捉集装箱的情况并进行可视化记录。
