COSCO Shipping Container Ship Crashed Keelung Port Terminal

It is reported that a wharf in Keelung Port, Taiwan Province, was damaged because a container ship of COSCO Shipping Company came into contact with the wharf while trying to berth.

At about 8:00 a.m. local time on March 16th, the "Fei Yun He", built in 2000 and with 1702 TEUs, just arrived in Keelung from Lianyungang Port, China.

According to local media reports,"Fei Yun He" probably crashed into Pier 20 in Keelung West due to poor communication between the pilot/crew and the port authority. The pilot can be heard saying in a video:"Why is the ship going faster and faster? Did you pull the wrong control button?"

The wharf tug cable was damaged, and the accident caused the wharf cement to fall off and the cable pile to be exposed. The accident also caused a large hole in the stern of the Fei Yun He, which was deployed on the North China-Taiwan route operated by COSCO Group and its subsidiary OOCL.

Shortly after the accident, officials from the Northern Branch of the Maritime Safety Administration and Taiwan's Transportation Safety Board inspected the site to collect investigation data. The Fei Yun He underwent emergency repairs and was allowed to leave Keelung on March 20 and arrived in Kaohsiung yesterday (March 21). COSCO has promised to compensate for the damage caused by the accident.

中远海运一国际海运集装箱船撞坏基隆港码头

       据悉，我国台湾基隆港的一个码头遭到破坏，原因是中远海运公司的一艘集装箱船在试图靠泊时与码头发生接触。

       当地时间3月16日上午8点左右，这艘2000年建造、1702标准箱的“Fei Yun He”号刚刚从中国连云港港抵达基隆。

       据当地媒体报道，可能是由于飞行员/机组人员与港务局沟通不畅，“Fei Yun He”撞到了基隆西20号码头。有视频中可以听到飞行员说：“为什么船开得越来越快？你是不是拉错了控制键？”

       码头拖船缆绳损坏，事故造成码头水泥脱落，缆绳桩外露。事故还在“Fei Yun He”号的船尾造成了一个大洞。“飞云河”号部署在由中远集团及其子公司东方海外(OOCL)运营的华北-台湾航线上。

       事故发生后不久，海事局北部分局和台湾运输安全委员会的官员对现场进行了检查，以收集调查数据。“Fei Yun He”号进行了紧急维修，于3月20日获准离开基隆，昨天（3月21日）抵达高雄。中远集团已承诺赔偿事故造成的损失。
