International logistics company Asyad Line launches Far East Express No.1


Asyad Line, based in Oman, will launch a container service linking the Far East and West Indies, according to information gathered by industry insiders. The train, called FEX1, has stops in China, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia as well as in India.


The full port rotations are Mondra, Hazira, Nawasheva, Haiphong, Shekou, Linchabang, Port Klang and Mondra. The first ship is scheduled to dock at Mondra on March 30. Transit times are expected to be 13 days from Mondra to Haiphong,15 days to Shekou,20 days to Linchabang and 24 days to Port Klang.


Asyad Line was founded in 2020, formerly known as Oman Container Line (OCL). Seabridge Marine Agencies, a unit of Mumbai-based Parikh Group, will reportedly act as the sole agent for Asyad Line.


Imports from the Far East to India have gained momentum in recent months amid rising demand from emerging economies for raw materials and semi-finished products to meet the needs of manufacturing expansion.Trade observers say this increasingly high-profile pattern is rooted in so-called trade diversification and has the potential to push supply chains back or near shore.


Several other intra-Asian niche airlines have opened more routes outside India to tap the growth potential. A number of emerging feeder/regional line companies, including sealad Shipping, TS lines, Sinotrans and SITC, have joined Pacific International Shipping (PIL), Evergreen Marine and Regional Container Line (RCL) to expand the intra-Asian network connecting India.


France's CMA CGM airline has also recently opened direct flights between the West Indies and China. Asian Subcontinent Express 2 (AS2) provides rotation services to Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Colombo, Mondra, Navascheva, Singapore and Shanghai.
