United Airlines opens Los Angeles-Hong Kong international air flight
United Airlines will open its second daily flight from Los Angeles to Hong Kong on October 26th, which will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, to supplement its existing two daily flights from San Francisco to Hong Kong.
In addition, the Star Alliance member company will add four weekly flights between Los Angeles and Shanghai from August 29, and upgrade the route to daily flights from late October.
Flights to Shanghai will also be operated by United Airlines' third cabin 787-9, including 48 seats in 1-2-1 configuration in Polaris business class,21 seats in 2-3-2 advanced economy class and 188 seats in 3-3-3 economy class.
The service, which complements United's daily services from San Francisco to Shanghai and San Francisco to Beijing, is the result of the latest agreement between the U.S. and Chinese governments to increase flights between the two countries.
United said it now has the largest and most diversified international route network among American airlines, providing direct flights to 134 international destinations in 67 countries, and its Atlantic and Pacific routes have more destinations than all American airlines combined.
