Haiti's largest international shipping port was looted

Port-au-Prince, the Haitian capital, has again been targeted by armed bandits, who looted dozens of containers and looted everything inside, plunging the port into chaos.

According to UNICEF quoted by Reuters, one of the 17 aid containers was looted, and another 260 containers containing aid were also controlled by armed groups.

UNICEF strongly condemned this, saying that these looted containers contained the necessities for children's survival, including resuscitators, early childhood development education supplies, water supply equipment, etc., which undoubtedly made Haiti's already collapsed health system worse.

Heavily armed criminals ransacked Port-au-Prince, the country's largest port, and its import and export business was seriously affected, with customers unable to enter the port to unload or pick up containers.

Following Maersk's suspension of booking service to and from Haiti, CMA also announced the suspension of its docking service at the port. As an alternative, CMA will dock at Lafito Pier,20 kilometers from Port-au-Prince, until further notice. ZIM also announced the suspension of booking service in Port-au-Prince until further notice.
