An accident occurred on a large container ship with 8500TEU
According to Qingdao Maritime Search and Rescue Center, in the early morning of March 14,2024, the container ship "EVERLUCID" collided with the bulk carrier "Huahai 78" in the waters off Qingdao. The accident caused the engine room of "Huahai 78" to enter water, which once faced the risk of shipwreck.
About half an hour later, rescue boats arrived in the incident area one after another to carry out rescue operations. Twelve crew members on Huahai 78 were transferred to EVER LUCID, which was slightly damaged in the accident, and all the crew members in distress were out of danger.
After the full rescue of relevant departments, the container ship "EVER LUCID" anchored safely at the anchorage in Jiaozhou Bay at 16:00 on the 14th, and the ship "Huahai 78" docked safely with the assistance of tugboats at 08:15 on the 15th. At present, accident investigation and other work are being carried out in an orderly manner.
At the time of the incident,"EVER LUCID" was carrying out voyage 0466-069E, and had just returned to Asia from American and Canadian ports. After calling in Tokyo and Osaka, it arrived at Qingdao Port on March 11, and left Hong Kong for Shanghai on the evening of the 13th, that is, shortly after leaving Hong Kong, the accident occurred.
According to the data,"EVER LUCID" serves the Trans-Pacific Northwest Service (TPN) of Ocean Alliance, and the shipping companies sharing cabins on board include Evergreen Shipping, CMA Flight, COSCO Shipping and OOCL.
This voyage "EVER LUCID" was originally expected to arrive in Shanghai on the 16th, but it is still anchored in Jiaozhou Bay, Qingdao. It is expected that there will be big delays in the subsequent shipping schedules in Shanghai, Ningbo and Yantian, Shenzhen.
一艘8500TEU的大型集装箱船舶发生事故
据青岛市海上搜救中心获悉，2024年3月14日凌晨，在青岛外海水域，集装箱船“EVERLUCID”与散货船“华海78“发生碰撞。事故造成“华海78”机舱进水，一度面临沉船的风险。
约半小时后，救援船陆续抵达事发海域开展救助行动，“华海78”上12名船员转移到事故中受损较轻的“EVER LUCID”，遇险船员全部脱离危险。
经过相关部门的全力营救，“EVER LUCID”集装箱船已于14日16：00时许在胶州湾内锚地安全抛锚，“华海78”轮于15日08：15时在拖轮协助下安全靠港。目前，事故调查等工作正在有序开展。
事发时“EVER LUCID”轮正在执行0466-069E航次，刚从美国以及加拿大港口返回亚洲，先后挂靠日本东京和大阪后于3月11日抵达青岛港，并于13日晚离港前往上海，也就是离港后不久发生了本起事故。
据数据显示，“EVER LUCID”轮服务于海洋联盟的跨太平洋西北航线Transpacific Northwest Service (TPN)，船上共舱的船公司包括长荣海运、达飞、中远海运、东方海外。
