Sudden! An accident occurred on a cargo ship in Yangming Shipping

According to Sindh Maritime Network, on the afternoon of March 16th, local time, a large container ship named YMWitness operated by Yangming Shipping had an accident when berthing at Kocaeli, Kokaaili Port, Turkey.

According to Turkish media, the ship, named YM Witness, crashed into a quayside bridge near a private container terminal because it couldn't control its speed in time. There was a pilot on board at the time of the incident.

Initial Turkish media reports said there were no casualties. However, Turkish media later reported that a quayside crane operator was seriously injured.

It is reported that YM Witness is a large ship with a length of 368 meters and a width of 51 meters. It was built in 2015 and its maximum container capacity exceeds 14000TEU. At present, it is operated by Yangming Shipping in Taiwan Province, China, but the owner and ship management company of this ship are Sespan.

The ship caused at least three container quayside bridges to collapse and damage, causing many containers on board to fall into the water.

突发！阳明海运一货船发生意外

       据信德海事网消息，当地时间3月16日下午，阳明海运旗下经营的一船名为YMWitness的大型集装箱船，在靠泊土耳其科喀艾里港Kocaeli时突发意外。

       据土耳其媒体消息，涉事船舶名为YM Witness，该轮在挂靠一个私人集装箱码头时，由于无法及时控制好航速导致其撞向了码头边的岸桥。事发时船上是有引航员在船。

       据土耳其媒体最开始的消息称，本起事故没有造成人员伤亡。不过，随后有土耳其媒体报道称，事故造成了一名岸桥操作员严重受伤。

       这艘船造成该码头至少3座集装箱岸桥倒塌受损，导致船上多个集装箱落入水中。
