The main port terminal in Port-au-Prince, Haiti reopened

Haitian security forces regained control of the Caribbean Port Service Terminal, the capital's most important port terminal, on March 12 local time. The terminal reopened and resumed operations.


Port-au-Prince is the capital of the Republic of Haiti, the political, economic and cultural center and the largest port city. And Port-au-Prince is also the largest port in Haiti, is one of the famous good ports in the West Indies, its throughput accounts for 60%~70% of the country's import and export materials.


The move comes after continuing civil strife in Haiti has severely affected its import and export business, with customers having difficulty entering ports to unload cargo or pick up containers.


Maersk announced in official website on March 11th that due to the severe situation in Haiti, it decided to stop accepting new reservations to and from Haiti until further notice.


At present, the Haitian Port Authority says it is cooperating with the police to provide a safe corridor for cargo transportation. 



海地太子港主要港口码头重新开放


       当地时间3月12日,海地安全部队夺回了首都太子港最重要的港口码头加勒比港口服务码头的控制权。该码头重新开放,恢复运营。


       太子港,是海地共和国的首都及政治、经济、文化中心和第一大港市。并且太子港也是海地最大的港口,是西印度群岛著名良港之一,其吞吐量占全国进出口物资的60%~70%。


       此前,由于海地内乱局势持续发酵,对其进出口业务造成了严重影响。客户难以进入港口卸货或提箱,导致业务受阻。


       马士基于3月11日在官网发布公告,表示由于海地的严峻情况,决定停止接受往返海地的新订舱,直至另行通知。


       目前,海地港口管理局表示正在与警方合作,为货物运输提供一条安全的走廊。
