During Ramadan, Houthis will increase its attack on Red Sea shipping

In the early morning of March 12, local time, Yahya Sarea, spokesman of Houthi armed forces in Yemen, announced that Houthi armed forces successfully fired several missiles at the American container ship Pinocchio sailing in the Red Sea and hit the target accurately, but the specific attack time was not announced.

Sarea further stated that in order to express support for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Houthi armed forces will intensify their attacks on the waters near the Red Sea during Ramadan.

The Pinocchio is a Liberian-flagged container ship, IMO:9400112, built in 2009. Previously owned by Singapore's OM Maritime Pte Ltd, the ship is currently operated by Singapore shipping company Sea lead, and was leased to Israeli shipping company ZIM in 2009, according to data from COSCO Ship Vision.

According to the report of the British Maritime Trade Operations Office, the freighter was attacked by missiles in the central Red Sea, but fortunately, the crew was safe and the hull was not damaged. The US Central Command also confirmed the missile attack by Houthi armed forces, but said that the missile missed the target and caused no losses or casualties.

It is worth noting that "Pinocchio" had business dealings with Oak Capital Management Company of the United States, and "True Confidence" and "PROPEL FORTUNE" attacked by Houthi armed forces were also associated with Oak Capital.

       当地时间3月12日凌晨，也门胡塞武装发言人叶海亚·萨雷亚宣布，胡塞武装成功向在红海航行的美国集装箱船“皮诺基奥”号发射了多枚导弹，并精准命中目标，但具体袭击时间未对外公布。

       萨雷亚进一步表示，为表达对加沙地带巴勒斯坦人民的支持，胡塞武装将在斋月期间加大对红海附近水域的攻击力度。

       据中远海科技船视宝数据显示，“皮诺基奥”号是一艘悬挂利比里亚国旗的集装箱货轮，IMO：9400112，建于2009年。此前，该船由新加坡OM Maritime Pte Ltd公司所有，目前由新加坡航运公司Sea lead负责运营，2009年曾租给以色列船公司ZIM。

       据英国海上贸易行动办公室的报告，该货轮在红海中部遭到导弹袭击，但幸运的是，船员均安全无恙，船体也未受到损害。美国中央司令部也证实了胡塞武装的导弹袭击，但表示导弹并未击中目标，未造成任何损失或人员伤亡。

       值得注意的是，“皮诺基奥”号曾与美国橡树资本管理公司有业务往来，此前胡塞武装袭击的“True Confidence”号和"PROPEL FORTUNE"号也与橡树资本有过关联。
