International shipping company suspends Russian route service

South Korean feeder operator SINOKOR has decided to suspend container shipping services to Russia's Vostochny port after the port's terminal operator was added to the new U.S. sanctions list against Russia.

This decision is expected to have some impact on SINOKOR's China-Russia route and other routes, including the recently opened route connecting Okgye port and Dongfang port in South Korea.

Terminal operator Vostochnaya Handling Company (VSC), which operates four berths in Orient Port and was listed by the U.S. Treasury Department as one of 500 individuals and entities on the sanctions list on February 22, the second anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. VSC is part of Russia's Global Ports Group, which handles container cargo in Russia's Far East and Baltic region.

A representative of SINOKOR said:"We have suspended the service to Dongfang Port now. If our ships continue to dock at the terminal, it may violate the sanctions. At the same time, we will stop receiving cargo reservations to and from Dongfang Port, but the booked goods will continue to be transported until the end of this month."

The representative also said that SINOKOR would continue to ship to Vladivostok, another port in Russia's Far East, because the port has not been affected by sanctions at present.

       韩国支线运营商长锦商船(SINOKOR)决定暂停向俄罗斯的东方港(Vostochny)提供集装箱运输服务，原因是该港口的码头运营商被列入了美国对俄罗斯的新一轮制裁名单。

       这一决定预计将对长锦商船的中国至俄罗斯航线以及其他航线造成一定影响，包括最近开通的连接韩国Okgye港和东方港的航线。

       码头运营商Vostochnaya装卸公司(VSC)在东方港经营着四个泊位，并在2月22日俄乌冲突两周年纪念日当天被美国财政部列入制裁名单中的500个个人和实体之一。VSC是俄罗斯全球港口集团的一部分，负责在俄罗斯远东和波罗的海地区处理集装箱货物。

       长锦商船的一位代表称：“我们现在暂停了对东方港的服务，如果我们的船只继续停靠该码头，可能会违反制裁规定。同时，我们将停止接收往返东方港的货物订舱，但已经预订的货物将继续运输至本月底。”

       该代表还表示，长锦商船将继续向俄罗斯远东的另一个港口符拉迪沃斯托克(Vladivostok)发货，因为该港口目前尚未受到制裁影响。
