The international airline will stop shipping disposable e-cigarettes forever

Cargolux will no longer transport disposable e-cigarettes because of concerns about their impact on health and environment.

The all-cargo carrier said the ban would also apply to Cargolux Italia, which is owned by it, in response to "growing concerns about the adverse effects of these products on public health and the environment".

Cargolux said that disposable e-cigarettes pose a great risk to human health, especially to the younger generation, because their target marketing is attractive tastes.

"In addition, these devices contain lithium batteries because they are non-recyclable and can become an environmental risk if not handled properly." Richard Forson, president and CEO of Cargolux, said:"The ban on the transportation of disposable e-cigarettes reflects Cargolux's commitment to the environment, public health and safety."

"As a responsible corporate citizen, Cargolux aims to encourage other logistics operators to take similar measures." The airline added that Cargolux refused to ship on routes of its global network for ethical reasons.
