This international airport has launched a new e-commerce logistics facility

The Ethiopian Airlines Group has launched a new e-commerce logistics facility at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. The facility is located in the airport's Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Centre and is dedicated to e-commerce, mail and express logistics services.

The facility will offer a range of services including merging, unmerging, sorting, repackaging and labelling. Technology and systems within the facility mean the airline's customers can now easily track and trace their cargo. 

Ethiopian Airlines Group also pointed out that the facility "aims to bridge the logistics gap and position Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as a cross-border electronic commerce logistics center in Africa and other regions".

Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, said at the unveiling ceremony of the new facility:"We have implemented high-end technology in infrastructure, which has completely changed the way goods are transported and delivered in the e-commerce industry in Africa. Through this facility, Ethiopian Airlines paved the way for the development of e-commerce services in Ethiopia and the African continent."

Last year, Ethiopian Airlines partnered with postal company MailAmericas to develop cross-border e-commerce services in Africa and the Middle East with Addis Ababa as a hub.

       埃塞俄比亚航空集团还指出，该设施“旨在弥合物流差距，并将埃塞俄比亚亚的斯亚贝巴定位为非洲及其他地区的跨境电子商务物流中心”。

       埃塞俄比亚航空集团首席执行官Mesfin Tasew在新设施揭幕仪式上称:“我们在基础设施中实施了高端技术，彻底改变了非洲电子商务行业的货物运输和交付方式。通过这一设施，埃塞俄比亚航空公司为埃塞俄比亚和非洲大陆电子商务服务的发展铺平了道路。“

       去年，埃塞俄比亚航空公司与邮政公司MailAmericas合作，以亚的斯亚贝巴为枢纽，在非洲和中东地区发展跨境电子商务服务。
