A British-owned international shipping ship was attacked by missiles

A Houthi missile found its target about 70 nautical miles south of Aden, causing minor damage and minor injuries to a crew member, according to a report by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to CENTCOM, the 15,900-deadweight-ton Islander was built in 1996 on its way to the Egyptian Red Sea port of Aladabiya, south of Suez. However, AIS data from VesselsValue showed the ship was moored outside the port of Djibouti. Houthi spokesman Yahya Sare'e said the ship was on fire.

According to VesselsValue, the vessel was owned by Gemstone Marine Ltd, registered in Monrovia, Liberia, under the flag of Palau and insured by British Marine, a British P&I association, which CENTCOM described as "British owned".

Central Command reported:"Houthi armed forces fired two anti-ship ballistic missiles from southern Yemen into the Gulf of Aden. The missile hit a British cargo ship MV Islander flying Palau flag."

The U.S. Central Command reported that the U.S. Navy has successfully shot down a number of missiles and drones "that may target U.S. and coalition warships."
