Lufthansa Airlines has launched a new round of strikes
The strike of Lufthansa Cargo Company started on the evening of 19th is expected to seriously affect the "large number" of cargo flights to and from Germany, and may become a normal state.
The union has called on Lufthansa's ground crew to go on a warning strike again from 8 p.m. February 19 to 7:10 a.m. February 21, two weeks after a strike at Lufthansa Cargo.
Dennis Dacke, head of the crew union, said in an interview:"After the last negotiation, Lufthansa gave a'special and better offer ', but it was not a good proposal for us. Therefore, we decided to go on strike, and 99% of the members agreed to go on warning strike action again."
Lufthansa Cargo will publish emergency flight plans on its website and warn hubs such as Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and D ü sseldorf, Cologne and Stuttgart will all be affected.
In addition to flight delays and cancellations, Lufthansa also implemented three temporary restrictions. During the strike, Frankfurt hub will suspend the operation of road feeder services. At the same time, Frankfurt will ban the transportation of dangerous goods and ornamental fish from noon on the 19th until the end of the strike. At Munich airport, the import of animals and ornamental fish is also prohibited.
German unions are scheduled to hold the next round of talks with Lufthansa on Wednesday, demanding a 12.5 percent increase in base pay and other conditions. If the talks fail, there may be more strikes in the future.
