According to CCTV news client, Belgian news agency quoted the country's diplomatic agency as saying that the EU escort operation in the Red Sea officially started on February 19th. The action plan lasts for one year and can be renewed.

According to the report, it will take several weeks from the official launch to the specific escort mission. At present, Belgium, Italy, Germany, France and other countries plan to send several warships to the Red Sea region.

The German frigate Hesse is reported to have set sail for the Mediterranean on February 8. Belgium says it plans to send a frigate to the Mediterranean on March 27. The EU fleet is scheduled to be able to fire to defend merchant ships or defend itself, but will not take the initiative to attack Houthi positions in Yemen.

It is reported that the EU pays more attention to whether the Red Sea shipping channel can be unblocked and its impact on European economic security, and hopes that European countries themselves can play a certain role in making merchant ships pass through the Red Sea safely.

Recently, the impact of the Red Sea crisis is still spreading. According to Clarkson Research data, the total tonnage of ships entering the Gulf of Aden from February 5 to 11 has dropped by 71% compared with the first half of December last year, which is the same as the previous week. Among them, the container ship traffic is still very limited (down by 89% compared with the first half of December last year). 

暂定一年！欧盟启动红海护航，可行？

       据央视新闻客户端，比利时通讯社援引该国外交机构消息，欧盟在红海的护航行动2月19日正式启动。该行动计划持续一年，可以续期。

       报道称，从正式启动到执行具体护航任务仍需数周时间。目前比利时、意大利、德国、法国等国计划派出多艘军舰前往红海地区。

       据了解，德国护卫舰黑森号已于2月8日启航前往地中海。比利时表示，计划3月27日派出一艘护卫舰前往地中海。按计划，欧盟舰队能够开火保卫商船或自卫，但不会主动攻击胡塞武装在也门的阵地。

       据悉，欧盟方面更关注红海航运通道能否畅通以及对欧洲经济安全的影响，希望通过欧洲国家自身发挥一定的力量和作用，让商船平安通过红海。

       近日，红海危机的影响仍在蔓延。根据克拉克森研究数据统计，2月5日至11日进入亚丁湾地区船舶运力以总吨计，已较去年12月上半月下降71%，下降程度与前一周持平。其中，集装箱船通行量依然十分有限（与去年12月上半月水平相比下降89%）。
