The reliability of global international shipping flights decreased by 5% month-on-month



Sea-Intelligence released the 149th Global Liner Performance (GLP) Report, which provides liner reliability data up to December 2023, covering liner reliability of 34 different trade routes and more than 60 shipping lines.


During the Red Sea crisis, global flight reliability fell 5.0 percent month-on-month in December 2023, the biggest drop since February 2021 at 56.8 percent, the report said.


That makes December 2023 the second-lowest month for scheduling reliability in the previous year. Flight reliability in December 2023 was only slightly higher than 0.4 percent in December 2022 compared to the same period last year. Average delays for late ships arriving also increased by 0.30 days from last month to 5.35 days due to circumnavigation.


In the last month of 2023, China's Taiwan container line Evergreen became the most reliable of the top 13 operators with 63.6% range reliability, followed by France's CMA CGM, the only two operators to exceed the 60% threshold.


The dispatching reliability of six shipping companies is in the range of 50%-60%, while that of the other five shipping companies is in the range of 40%-50%. In addition, Yangming was identified as the most unreliable shipping company, and the dispatching reliability in December 2023 was 45.6%.


Alan Murphy, CEO of Sea-Intelligence, said:"Due to the increase in transit time in Africa, none of the top 13 shipping companies have achieved monthly improvement in flight reliability, while only four shipping companies have achieved monthly improvement."

       在2023年的最后一个月,中国台湾集装箱航运公司长荣(Evergreen)以63.6%的运程可靠性成为前13家运营商中最可靠的,紧随其后的是法国达飞(CMA CGM),是仅有的两家超过60%门槛的运营商。


       六家船公司的调度可靠性在50%-60%范围内,而其余五家船公司都在40%-50%之间,另外,阳明被确定为最不可靠的船司,2023年12月的调度可靠性为45.6%。


       Sea-Intelligence首席执行官Alan Murphy表示:“由于非洲中转时间的增加,排名前13位的航运公司中没有一家在航班可靠性方面实现了月比改善,而只有4家航运公司实现了月比改善。”
