International Express DHL put into operation another B777 cargo plane

Recently, DHL Express put into operation another B777 cargo plane at its South Asia hub in Singapore. This is the last of five B777 cargo planes deployed and used in the crew and maintenance agreement signed between DHL Express and Singapore Airlines in 2022.

Singapore is one of the major air cargo and logistics hubs in the Asia-Pacific region. Since December 2023, the five B777 cargo planes have operated 12 flights between the United States and Asia every week, reducing the transit time between the Asia-Pacific region and the West Coast of the United States to one day, thus meeting customers' timeliness requirements for cross-border transportation.

With the deployment of these five B777 freighters, the number of B777 freighters in DHL Express fleet has reached 28. B777 freighters are twin-engine freighters with large volume, long range and excellent performance, which have higher fuel efficiency. Compared with B747-400, the carbon dioxide emissions of B777 freighters are reduced by 18%, which will help DHL Express optimize its operation and achieve its sustainable development goals.

The demand for economy, trade and logistics between China and the Asia-Pacific region has recovered steadily, and DHL Express has continuously expanded its investment in logistics facilities in the Asia-Pacific region. Last November, the expansion and commissioning ceremony of DHL Central Asia Hub in Hong Kong started, and the cumulative investment of the Central Asia Hub has reached 562 million euros.

In the same month, DHL Express opened an intercontinental cargo route from Guangzhou to Cincinnati. With the opening of this route, DHL Express currently operates 9 flights at Guangzhou Port, and the capacity of American Line has increased to over 700 tons, further shortening the transit time between South China and America.
