Sarea said in the statement that Houthi armed forces will continue to attack ships associated with Israel on the Red Sea route until Israel stops the war in Gaza and lifts the blockade on the Gaza Strip.

According to the information published on the website of the US Department of Defense, "Ocean Jazz" was contracted by the US military in 2017 to transport and load and unload large-scale military equipment for the US Navy. In addition, on the 22nd local time, the US Central Command released a message saying that the Houthi armed forces in Yemen claimed that the attack on the "Ocean Jazz" was false, and the US military had been maintaining communication and contact with this freighter. 

Since the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Houthi armed forces in Yemen have repeatedly attacked targets in the Red Sea with drones and missiles. Since January 12, the United States and Britain have launched air strikes against Houthi armed forces in Yemen, causing many deaths and injuries. Some countries have condemned the actions of the United States and Britain, saying that they are a violation of Yemen's sovereignty and will aggravate regional tensions.

According to a report by Japanese media on January 22, Buhati, a member of the Political Bureau of Houthi armed forces in Yemen, hinted in an interview that it is possible to attack ships related to Japan again, and claimed that "a country like Japan that does not support the people of Gaza will be punished by God". He also said that Houthi armed forces' actions in the Red Sea are to support the people of Gaza. Buhati also said that "whether the cargo ship 'Galaxy Leader' will be released will be determined by the future direction of the Palestinian-Israeli situation."

According to previous media reports, on November 19th last year, Houthi armed forces hijacked the cargo ship "Galaxy Leader" and detained it ever since. The ship belongs to a British company and is operated by Japan Post Shipping Company. One of the ownership associates of this ship is a wealthy Israeli businessman.

据媒体此前报道，去年11月19日，胡塞武装劫持了“银河领袖”号货船并扣押至今。该船属于一家英国公司，由日本邮船公司运营。这艘船的所有权关联人中有一名以色列富商。
