Los Angeles Port Freight Volume Released in 2023 

It is reported that Los Angeles Port handled 8,634,497 TEUs in 2023, a decrease of about 13% compared with last year. Trade in most ports in the world showed a downward trend, but Los Angeles Port maintained its position as the busiest container port in the United States for the 24th consecutive year.

At the close of 2023, Los Angeles Port performed strongly, handling 747,335 TEUs, a fifth consecutive month of growth. In December 2023, Los Angeles Port imported 369,477 TEUs and loaded exports 121,575 TEUs, while the total empty containers were 256,283 TEUs.

Los Angeles Port, located in the southwestern state of California, is the largest container port in the United States. Los Angeles is the largest industrial city on the west coast of the United States. Its famous industries are aircraft manufacturing and oil industry. In addition, there are automobile manufacturing, electronic instruments, chemistry, steel and printing, etc.

Gene Seroka, executive director of Los Angeles Port, said that by 2024, their goal is to make greater progress in community investment and sustainable development and expand market share.

He stressed that a 10-year capital improvement plan with a total investment of $2 billion is underway to boost freight transportation. They will also strengthen safety technology to improve efficiency and reduce carbon footprint. This series of measures will create more jobs while enabling ports to put more money into communities.

       在2023年收官之际，洛杉矶港表现强劲，处理了747335个标准箱，创下连续第五个月的增长。洛杉矶港2023年12月的进口量达到369477标准箱，装货出口为121575标准箱，而空箱总量为256283标准箱。

       洛杉矶港位于美国西南部加利福尼亚州，是美国第一大集装箱港。洛杉矶是美国西海岸的最大工业城市，著名的工业为飞机制造业和石油工业。此外，还有汽车制造业、电子仪器、化学、钢铁及印刷等。

       洛杉矶港执行董事Gene Seroka称，到2024年，他们的目标是在社区投资、可持续发展方面取得更大进展，并扩大市场份额。

       他强调，为了推动货运，正在进行一项为期10年、总投资20亿美元的资本改善计划。他们还将加强安全技术，以提高效率并降低碳足迹。这一系列措施将创造更多就业机会，同时使港口能够将更多资金投入到社区中。
