Start negotiations! EU is expected to lift Red Sea crisis? 

On January 15, local time, according to the Saba News Agency controlled by Houthi armed forces in Yemen, the armed forces will continue to prevent Israeli ships or ships heading for Israeli ports until Israel stops its aggression and siege of the Gaza Strip.

German Foreign Minister Anna Baerbock said on January 14th that EU countries are actively negotiating to start operations in the Red Sea at an early date, with the aim of protecting merchant ships passing through the Red Sea waterway from Yemeni Houthi armed forces. The German government is actively participating in the negotiations and hopes to reach an agreement as soon as possible.

Since mid-December, tensions in the Red Sea have continued. As a result, global shipping has been plunged into a situation of soaring freight rates and unstable supply chains.

According to data released by Drury, the World Container Freight Index (WCI) reached $3,072/FEU, up 15% against the background of the previous 61% increase. This is the highest index since October 2022. In addition, the freight from Shanghai to Genoa, Italy increased by 25% to $5,213; Freight from Shanghai to Rotterdam in the Netherlands rose 23% to $4,406 per 40 feet.

The agency also predicted that due to the situation in the Red Sea and Suez, spot freight on related routes is expected to continue to rise in the next few weeks.

       德国外交部长安娜菜娜·贝尔伯克1月14日表示，欧盟国家正在就早日开启在红海的行动进行积极谈判，目的是保护经由红海航道的商船免受也门胡塞武装的袭击。德国政府正在积极参与谈判，希望尽快达成协议。

       从12月中旬至今，红海局势持续紧张。受此影响，全球航运陷入运价暴涨、供应链不稳定的局面。

       据德鲁里发布的数据显示，世界集装箱运价指数(WCI)达到3072美元/FEU，在此前上涨61%的背景下，再涨15%。这是自2022年10月以来的最高指数。此外，上海到意大利热那亚的运费增加了25%，达到5213美元；上海到荷兰鹿特丹的运费上涨了23%，至每40英尺4406美元。

       该机构还预计，由于红海和苏伊士的情况，预计相关航线的现货运费在未来几周内还将继续上升。
