First voyage! BYD car carrier, coming! 


Recently, BYD's first car carrier was delivered and left Hong Kong. "BYD Explorer No.1" has a length of 199.9 meters, a width of 38 meters, a designed draft of 8.6 meters, a designed speed of 19 knots and a loading capacity of 7,000 vehicles.


This is a 7000-parking car carrier built by CIMC Raffles, a subsidiary of CIMC Group, for Zodiac Maritime, an international shipping company, and leased by the shipowner to BYD for operation. It is also the first ship of BYD's "sea fleet".


At the same time,"BYD Explorer No.1" is also the first automobile carrier built by domestic shipyards and specially used for domestic automobile export, which marks the beginning of the era of "national automobile self-transportation" and will effectively guarantee the rapid delivery and expansion of BYD's overseas market.


It is reported that building its own automobile transport fleet has become one of the important strategies of BYD. BYD has ordered many automobile transport ships in domestic shipyards to meet the transportation demand brought by its rapid overseas expansion.


In addition, BYD has expanded its business scope, adding international ship management, NVOCC business, international ship agency, port tally, port cargo handling activities, etc., and intends to make great efforts in the automobile shipping market.


Expect for the new ships leased from overseas shipowners, BYD has previously ordered six self-owned ships, including two 7,000-vehicle LNG dual-fuel ships of Guangzhou Shipbuilding International, and two 9,200-vehicle LNG dual-fuel ships of China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) and China Merchants Industry Nanjing Jinling, all of which are planned to be delivered in 2025. 




首航!比亚迪汽车运输船,来了!


       近日,比亚迪首艘汽车运输船交付离港。“比亚迪探索者1号“船长199.9米,型宽38米,设计吃水8.6米,设计航速19节,装载量为7000台车。


       这是中集集团旗下中集来福士为国际航运公司Zodiac Maritime建造的7000车位汽车运输船,并由船东租给比亚迪运营,也是比亚迪“出海舰队”的首艘船舶。


       同时,“比亚迪探索者1号”也是首艘由国内船厂建造、专门用于国产汽车出口的汽车运输船,标志着“国车自运”时代的开启,将有力保障比亚迪海外市场的快速交付与拓展。


       据悉,打造自有汽车运输船队,已成为比亚迪的重要战略之一。比亚迪已在国内船厂订造了多舶汽车运输船,以满足自身海外快速扩张带来的运输需求。


       此外,比亚迪还扩大了经营范围,新增了国际船舶管理、无船承运业务、国际船舶代理、港口理货、港口货物装卸搬运活动等业务,有意在汽车海运市场大展拳脚。


       据悉,除了从海外船东租赁的新船外,比亚迪此前还订造了6艘自有船,包括广船国际2艘7000车LNG双燃料船、以及招商局重工(江苏)和招商工业南京金陵各2艘9200车LNG双燃料船,新船均计划在2025年交付。
