The container throughput of Shanghai Port ranks first in the world for 14 consecutive years

In 2023, the container throughput of Shanghai Port exceeded 49 million TEUs, ranking first in the world for 14 consecutive years.

It is reported that the container route of Shanghai Port covers more than 700 ports in more than 200 countries and regions around the world, with more than 320 liner flights per week.

Shanghai has also become the first port in the world with liquefied natural gas (LNG) offshore filling capacity, and together with Los Angeles Port, it has built the world's first trans-Pacific green shipping corridor.

According to reports, while the container throughput reached a new high, the number of international sailing ships entering and leaving Shanghai Port increased simultaneously. Taking Yangshan Port as an example, according to the statistics of Yangshan Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, in 2023, the station inspected more than 9,640 international sailing ships entering and leaving the port, an increase of 7% compared with 2022.

According to the news released by the Ministry of Transport of China recently, in the first 11 months of 2023, the cargo throughput of Chinese ports reached 15.51 billion tons, up 8.4% year-on-year, of which the domestic and foreign trade throughput increased by 7.9% and 9.6% respectively. 

上海港集装箱吞吐量连续14年全球第一

       2023年，上海港集装箱吞吐量突破4900万标准箱，连续14年蝉联全球第一。

       据悉，上海港集装箱航线覆盖全球200多个国家和地区的700多个港口，每周班轮进出超过320个班次。

       上海也成为全球首批具备液化天然气(LNG)海上加注能力的港口，与洛杉硝港共同打造全球第一条跨太平洋绿色航运走廊。

       据报道，在集装箱吞吐量创新高的同时，进出上海口岸的国际航行船舶数量同步增多。以洋山口岸为例，据洋山出入境边防检查站统计，2023年该站累计查验入出（境）港国际航行船舶超9640艘次，较2022年增长7%。

       另据中国交通运输部近日发布的消息，2023年前11个月，中国港口完成货物吞吐量155.1亿吨，同比增长8.4%，其中内、外贸吞吐量分别增长7.9%和9.6%。
