A nationwide strike broke out in Italy, and many ports were paralyzed

Italy's two largest unions, UIL and CGIL, recently called on ten thousands of central workers to take part in a nationwide strike. The strike affected a wide range of industries, including transportation, public administration, teaching and research, health care, postal services and so on.

According to the report of trade union organizations, the participation rate of strikers in many places in Italy is over 70%. Among them, the participation rate of some ports reaches 100%, the participation rate of logistics industry is as high as 80%, and the participation rate of public transportation and railway transportation industry is 70%.

The strike broke out because workers demanded to raise their income level and guarantee their basic rights and welfare.

It is reported that in order to continue to implement their plan and fight for workers' rights and interests, trade unions will organize several strikes in the next two weeks. If the strike wave continues to escalate in the next two weeks, it will have a certain impact on logistics, transportation and parcel distribution.

The planned 24-hour strike protest was earlier scaled down by unions after Italy's strike regulator suggested postponing the protest and said it did not meet the requirements, saying the air transport department would no longer participate.
