According to the latest data, what is the global air cargo demand?

According to the data released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently, the global air cargo demand increased by 1.9% year-on-year in September (international demand increased by 1.6%). Global air cargo demand is continuing to recover.

Capacity (usable cargo ton-km) rose 12.1 percent year-on-year in September (international capacity rose 11.0 percent). IATA said the increase was mainly due to international belly cabin capacity, which rose 31.5 percent year-on-year as airlines stepped up operations to meet demand during the northern hemisphere's peak tourist season.

Willie Walsh, president of IATA, said:"Despite the decline in trade volume and the high price of jet fuel, air cargo maintained a moderate growth in September, showing the value of air cargo. As key export orders and manufacturing PMI are developing in a positive direction, we are cautiously optimistic about the development trend of the year-end peak season."
