Orders for automobile carriers are scheduled for 2026 


Since the beginning of this year, the export of new energy vehicles has shown explosive growth, and the traditional ro-ro ship shipping mode is short of routes and shipping spaces. 


Since the second half of 2022, China's vehicle export volume has been rising continuously, but the shipping capacity of automobile export has encountered a bottleneck. In order to solve the problem of insufficient export automobile capacity, Taicang Port cooperated with COSCO Shipping to design and develop a special framework for foldable commercial vehicles.


The growth of export of new energy vehicles has led to the lack of international automobile carriers, and shipping companies and automobile enterprises have ordered ships one after another, which has also lignited the shipbuilding industry. Due to the shortage of transportation capacity, the freight rate of international automobile ships has risen. 


It is reported that there are more than 700 automobile carriers in the world, and the number operated by Chinese shipowners accounts for less than 10% of the global total capacity. Compared with the continuous blowout of automobile export situation, it is obvious that the capacity is seriously insufficient.


On September 12th, this year, the LNG dual-fuel vehicle carrier built by Guangzhou Shipbuilding International, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Corporation, and China Shipbuilding Trade signed and delivered the ship. At present, this company holds an order for 25 ship vehicle carriers, and the shipbuilding order has been scheduled for 2026. 




一舱难求!汽车运输船订单排到2026年


       今年以来,新能源汽车出口呈现爆发式增长,传统的滚装船出运模式出现航线和舱位紧张。


       从2022年下半年以来,我国整车出口量持续攀升,但是汽车出口海运运输能力却遭遇“瓶颈”。为了破解出口汽车运力不足的难题,太仓港与中远海运合作,设计研发出可折叠商品车专用框架。


       新能源汽车出口的增长,带动国际汽车运输船“一舱难求”,航运公司和车企纷纷出手订船,也带火了造船业。由于运力紧缺,导致国际汽车船运价水涨船高。


       据悉,全球范围内大概有700多舶汽车运输船,而中国船东运营的数量,占全球总运力不足10%。相对于持续井喷的汽车出口形势,显然运力严重不足。


       今年9月12日,由中国船舶集团旗下广船国际联合中船贸易建造的LNG双燃料汽车运输船签字交目前,这家企业手持25舰汽车运输船订单,造船订单已经排到2026年。
