Hapag-Lloyd: Set up a new company in Brazil! 


On October 19th,Hapag-Lloyd announced the formation of a new joint venture-Norcoast with Norsul, a Brazilian shipping and waterway logistics company.


Based on the 50-50 partnership, Norcoast plans to start providing container coastal transportation and feeder services at Brazilian ports in the first quarter of 2024. Norcoast will take advantage of the advantages of the two parent companies to operate independently in the region.


Andr é s Kulka, senior managing director of Latin America in Beurotte, said: "Brazil's coastal transportation industry is growing, handling more than 1.2 million TEUs in 2022. Norcoast will provide its customers with integrated logistics and fast and efficient solutions, so as to make full use of the growing demand of Brazil's coastal transportation market." 


Brazil has 37 public ports. Ports can be managed by federal, state, municipal and private agencies, allowing ports to be open to foreign service providers. Companies providing port-related services such as container services, transshipment, warehousing, customs clearance and ship repair must have a legal entity in Brazil.


Brazilian law does not discriminate against the participation of foreign capital. Similarly, there are no discriminatory provisions regarding the acceptance of port services.

       10月19日,赫伯罗特宣布,与巴西航运和水路物流公司Norsul组建了一家新的合资企业——Norcoast。


       基于50-50的合作伙伴关系,Norcoast计划于2024年第一季度开始在巴西港口提供集装箱沿海运输和支线服务。Norcoast将利用两家母公司的优势在该地区独立运营。


       赫伯罗特拉丁美洲区高级董事总经理Andrés Kulka称:“巴西沿海运输行业不断增长,2022年处理超过120万标准箱。Norcoast将为其客户提供综合物流以及快速高效的解决方案,从而充分利用巴西沿海运输市场不断增长的需求。”


       巴西有37个公共港口。港口可以由联邦、州、市政府及私营机构管理,允许港口对外国服务提供者开放。提供诸如集装箱服务、转运、仓储、清关以及船只修理等港口辅助服务的公司,必须在巴西设有法人实体。


       巴西法律没有对外国资本参与的歧视性规定。同样,在接受港口服务方面也没有任何歧视性规定。
