Affected by drought, the throughput of ships in Panama Canal decreased


According to the data released by Panama Canal Authority recently, from October 2022 to September 2023, the number of ships passing through Panama Canal was 11,663, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%.


According to the Panama Canal Authority, the drought and lack of rain caused the maximum water level of the canal to drop to 13.41 meters, and the average number of ships passing through the canal dropped from 38 to 36, and even once dropped to 32.


It is estimated that 12,527 ships will pass through the Panama Canal in 2023, and this number will further decrease by 2024.

       巴拿马运河管理局日前发布的数据显示,从2022年10月至2023年9月,巴拿马运河船舶通过数量为11663艘,同比减少3.6%。


       巴拿马运河管理局表示,天气干旱少雨导致运河最大吃水位下降到13.41米,平均每天通过数量从38艘下降到36艘,甚至一度降为32艘。


       预计2023年将有12527艘船舶通过巴拿马运河,而到2024年这一数量可能将进一步下降。
