Transport Secretary Meets MSC CEO

On September 19th, Li Xiaopeng, Minister of Transportation, met with Soren Toft, Global CEO of Mediterranean Shipping Company, who was invited to China to attend the Global Sustainable Transportation Summit Forum (2023). The two sides exchanged views on issues of common concern. Li Tianbi, Chief Engineer of the Ministry and Director of Water Transport Bureau, attended the meeting.

Soren Toft is looking forward to the upcoming Global Summit Forum on Sustainable Transportation (2023) and will actively participate in relevant activities of the Forum. He said that Mediterranean shipping companies attach great importance to the sustainable development of shipping and have taken active measures to promote the reduction of greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions from ships.

Mediterranean Shipping Company is willing to further deepen cooperation with Chinese ports and shipping enterprises in the field of sustainable transportation, strengthen communication and expand cooperation space, and inject more vitality into sustainable transportation development.

交通部长会见MSC首席CEO

       9月19日，交通运输部部长李小鹏在京会见了应邀来华参加全球可持续交通高峰论坛（2023）的地中海航运公司全球首席执行官索伦·托夫特，双方就共同关心的问题交换了意见。部总工程师兼水运局局长李天碧也参加了会见。

       索伦·托夫特对即将举办的全球可持续交通高峰论坛（2023）充满期待，将积极参加论坛相关活动。他表示，地中海航运公司高度重视航运可持续发展，采取了积极措施推动减少船舶温室气体和大气污染物排放。

       地中海航运公司愿与中方港口、航运企业进一步加深在可持续交通领域的合作，加强沟通交流，拓展合作空间，为可持续交通发展注入更多活力。
